Groppi's
While not technically a hopping nightspot, Groppi's makes the list by virtue of having a rather busy wine bar. Opened as a neighborhood market in 1913 by the family of Father James Groppi, a leader of the civil rights movement. At a time when people of different nationalities did not necessarily get along, anyone and everyone was welcome at Groppi's.
